Jeollabukdo Multi-day Hiking Tour
I got a lot of time for Jollabukdo in southwest Korea. It’s a hilly plateau area. Like a thimble.
Its got lots of small sharp peaks. Good 3-5hr hikes. Small as in six to eight hundred meters.
They jut out over the horizons like grip pads.
There is a movie I recommend you should watch on YouTube one day, called 남부군 c.1990, North Korean Partisan in South Korea. The partisans in that movie ramble off the names of mountains in Jollabukdo.
So when I moved to the Jirisan area, I would sometimes go into Jollabukdo and look for these peaks mentioned in the well researched movie. I was surprised and pleased to see that there was always a board on the summit, explaining the partisan history.

Day 1: Meet at Jeonju KTX. Drive to Jinan (1hr) and enjoy the many types of trails and excellent views of the stone doltaps at Maisan. Stay at Hongsam Villa. Has self laundry service. Eat local ginseng based meal.
Day 2: Western or Korean breakfast at Hotel. Drive (1hr) to Gubongsan. Spend 4 hours hiking the suspension bridge and other attractions. Eat delicious meal at trailhead restaurant. Stay locally.
Day 3: Drive one hour to Seoneunsan near Jeongeup. Explore the many walking and hiking options at Seoneunsan. Beautiful temple. Stay in Western Hotel in Jeongeup (2Ns). Eat local delicacy.
Day 4: Explore local markets in Jeongeup. Drive 30mins to Naejangsan. Explore the many walking and hiking options around this park. Stay in Sunchang-eup.
Day 5: Enjoy a casual and scenic hike of Yonggwolsan next to the Seomjingang river. A series of baordwalks criss-cross up a side of 500m mountain, providing comfortable walking with incredibly beautiful views of Jeollabukdo.
A big lunch in Jeonju city followed with an afternoon departure on the KTX to your next destination in South Korea.
